The Long Road to My Son’s Tourette syndrome Diagnosis

There’s a moment in every parent’s life when they feel the need to share their story, especially when the journey has been as challenging and heart-wrenching as ours. Watching my beautiful child struggle through years of confusion and missed diagnoses took a toll, but I’m grateful we persisted. From early signs of autism in his toddler years—his love for routines, his loyalty to one pair of shoes, the way he aligned his Spongebob pillow at night—to his struggles in school, our road was long and exhausting. But each setback brought us closer to understanding and, eventually, to a pivotal diagnosis that would change everything.

In this post, I share our journey from those early signs to the ultimate revelation of Tourette syndrome, alongside autism, OCD, and ADHD, and the allies we found along the way. This is our story, in the hope it might resonate with others facing similar struggles.
